Hun Why Are You Over Planning Your Vaca?

I hear you — you want to see everything. I had a friend once tell me she only travels once a year because she needs two full weeks to “see it all.” Girl… what? That’s wild to me.
Nah, in a world that glorifies being busy, I need my vacation time more than once a year. If you pile everything into one trip, even a vacation starts to feel like work. Running from one activity to the next, overpacking your itinerary, posting every moment online… it’s overwhelming, Queen.
Take a deep breath — okay, let’s exhale together. 🫧
I’m holding your hand when I say this to you, hun: travel doesn’t have to feel like another task. You are literally going on vacation. Google the word vacation — it’s about leisure, not exhaustion.
In this post, I’m going to show you how to bring rest and ease into your adventures, so your trip fills your cup instead of draining it. ✨
1. 🌿 Plan Less, Experience More

You don’t need a fully booked itinerary to enjoy your trip. Yes, I said that with my whole chest too.
Choose one meaningful activity per day — like a local tour, a beach day, or a spa visit — and give yourself permission to wander, nap, or just breathe.
There was a time in my life when I traveled only through Central and South America. And chile… those Mayan pyramids had me in a chokehold. I had to see every single one. I’d go on these energy-draining quests to check them all off my list… until one day it hit me: wait a damn minute — didn’t I just see this same pyramid two countries ago? 😭
That’s when I learned a lesson I’ll never forget: countries often have similar artifacts, monuments, or experiences. Hun, pick what’s important to you and go with that. Not everything a country has to offer has to be seen.
2. 🏡 Stay Somewhere That Feels Like a Sanctuary

I love me a good Hostel — its cheap and a good way to meet people, however not every trip has to be that. Sometimes, pick accommodations that offer serenity, not just a place to crash. Think cozy Airbnb, boutique hotels, wellness retreats, or cabins with a view.
Where you stay sets the tone for your entire trip.
3. 📵 Disconnect to Reconnect

I don’t have a travel plan with my cell phone provider. I purposely do that. You know why? Because I’ve realized people back at home love to disrespect your peace when you’re on vacation.
Why are you calling me to talk about the man I told you to leave three years ago? Ma’am… not on my vacation time.
Limit screen time, and limit access to your energy. Toxic friends? They can wait. That situationship update? Definitely can wait. Social media too — you don’t owe anyone real-time updates of your joy.
Create a few intentional moments to capture your memories, then put the phone away. Post later. Be present with the people — or the peace — around you.
4. ☕ Build Rituals Into Your Travel

Your wellness doesn’t have to stay home. Meditate on the balcony, journal with your morning coffee, stretch before bed, or walk barefoot on the sand. Look up a class to attend and partake with community around you. These small rituals help you stay grounded no matter where you are.
5. 🧳 Let Go of the Guilt

Sleep is okay. Resting isn’t “wasting” your trip. A slow morning with tea overlooking the city is just as memorable as sightseeing. You deserve to move at your own pace. It’s YOUR vacation, not the world’s.
✨ Final Thought:
Traveling and chilling can coexist beautifully when you give yourself permission to slow down. You’re not just visiting a new place — you’re allowing that place to repower you.
